Initial Comment: I typically don't have much room to spare on my taskbar; it's a shame to devote space to DQSD when I'm not using it. Now that we have Windows-S to set focus (and the "Search" button on several MSFT keyboards), it would be nice to amend DQSD to run in a taskbarless mode, popping up only in response to a keyboard command. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Alec Burgess (burale) Date: 2003-01-27 08:30 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=623424 >>Taskbar-less search!<< This is alreadyavailable - a toolbar created on the "normal" Window taskbar can be dragged off the taskbar and positioned docked on any of the three sides not occupied. I have mine configured to contain shortcuts to the programs I use most frequently and in a separate section to show the DQSD search panel. I leave this "extra" taskbar hidden. To access it, all that's necessary is to swoop the mouse to top-of-screen. Tested and works on Win98 and Win2K - not sure about WinXP. Regards ... The poster above seems to be implying DQSD is always running, lurking in the background, however... How about the Win+S shortcut *load* DQSD? Similar to Win+E loading explorer, etc, it would launch DQSD and then get focus in one motion. Looking at the number of extensions that have been added to this nifty tool, perhaps the warm-up time on launch would inhibit this style of usage, but I'd be happy to cull features (via configuration options, of course) to get it firing up nice and quick. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=432069&aid=620378&group_id=42081 ------------------------------------------------------- This SF.NET email is sponsored by: SourceForge Enterprise Edition + IBM + LinuxWorld = Something 2 See! http://www.vasoftware.com _______________________________________________ DQSD-Devel mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/dqsd-devel
