For the Set Browser util, you can use the browse or find button and explore directly to the Netscape exe.  This might help.

Theses script errors are symptomatic of DQSD (or your PC) being confused as to what the default browser is.  I think if you can get the default browser set right the script error might go away.

You may have other issues but I'd start here.  Then you may try copying the quick search directly from the one PC (working) to the other (not working).

Sorry it has taken so long to get out an answer.  Try these and let us know if it works or not.

Subject: [DQSD-Devel] strange behavior with DQSD

I have it on two machines, both Windows 2000 SP3. On my Dell machine it works like a charm.
On my Toshiba laptop I get "An error has occurred in the script on this page.
Line 76
Char 5
Error   Unspecified error
Code 0

URL C:\Program Files\Quick Search Deskbar\search.htm

I have not modified this file.

I also can't get default browser to work for search streams, which does work (Netscape 7.1) on my Dell machine.
if I enter a valid URL, then Netscape does start up and go to that URL.
? puts up an IE help box that looks correct.
Phone number and email lookups all fail with the same IE error

I have tried using Set Browser to force Netscape as my default browser, but it doesn't recognize 7.1.

Any thoughts or suggestions for fixes?
