Thanks - I'd tried with return false previously, but that didn't help. Neither did return true, though. And I wasn't entirely clear - it's not the vertical docking that's the problem, it's when DQSD is outside of the task bar. I think the issue is that the task bar gets the keyboard message and ignores it in the general case, but that in the non-docked case someone else (desktop?) gets it and acts on it.
