Help! I miss Dave. I am not a teckie, just another struggler trying to keep their system running. No game playing, no over clocking, no BS. Just a word processing, emailing, eBaying kind of computor. No exprimenting, no off beat downloads etc. etc. I lost Dave 2 weeks ago and I still try and use him every few minutes I am on line. I lost a lot of things and my system became very unstable after a lockup while surfing with Netscape. I had to shut down the system with the power button. C+A+D did not work. After rebooting all of my bookmarks, passwords, and saved emails were gone from NS. Dave was gone too. OS: Win XP Home with all up dates AMD 1800 + 512 Ram Norton AV up to date AD aware and Spy Bot are run regularly Broad band cable behind a Linksys router DQSD 3.1.8 Beta 2 was Ver 3.1.6 I do not have a virus My problem is not in the DSBD Faq. My problem is reported 3 times in the Bug reports on Jan 11 here: http://tinyurl.com/2ws99 I am not running firebird on Mar 15 here: http://tinyurl.com/2gelr I have no idea what this answer is all about on June 12 here: http://tinyurl.com/2u4xc This guy solved his problem but had to do a complete reinstall of his OS and all programs. This is a very depressing suggestion. I have defraged, scandisked and uninstalled and reinstalled Dave 3.1.6 several times. Reinstalled Internet Explorer and upgraded Netscape to 7.1 I have deleted and redownloaded Dave 3.1.6 and reinstalled after a scan and defrag. Twice. I deleated Dave 3.1.6 and downloaded and installed 3.1.8 beta 2. I still get the IE script error report twice when I right click the task bar, go to toolbars and click add quick search. The only difference is now the Line numbers in the error report are different. Now it is line 262 in the first window and the second window is line 713. Please help me get Dave back.
