All other indications are that it has loaded, eg Search label appears in taskbar and right clicking taskbar has search ticked. It also appears in the Add/Remove programs list. Does anyone have any idea what might be causing this. I had it instalkled on my previous machine and am finding it hard to do without. If the search bar isn't sized big enough, you'll only see the label that says "Search". In XP the taskbar is locked by default and the symptoms you described sound like that's the issue.
