Please note that this message will contain a full copy of the comment thread, including the initial issue submission, for this request, not just the latest update. Category: Interface Improvements (example) Group: None Status: Open Resolution: None Priority: 5 Submitted By: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Assigned to: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Summary: search-as-you-type for aliases and local searches Initial Comment: Please add search-as-you-type functionality for aliases and local searches (e.g. ggd, run , etc.) a. search-as-you-type for aliases shall be able to search in alias attributes: alias, title, description and category. Which attributes will be used shall be configurable. Results shall be displayed in the "floating list box" (I believe it has been already used for autocomplete) This would significantly increase efficiency of the GUI. There are more than 300 aliases ATM ... one should not be expected to memorize all that stuff. b. search-as-you-type for local searches like 'ggd' or 'run' shall resemble GoogleDesktop search. It will also increase efficiency in working with local items: why to type "run totalcmd.exe" when you can just "run tot" and select from floating list box. thnx ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=432069&aid=1444801&group_id=42081 ------------------------------------------------------- This SF.Net email is sponsored by xPML, a groundbreaking scripting language that extends applications into web and mobile media.
