Category: None Group: Plugin >Status: Closed >Resolution: Invalid Priority: 5 Private: No Submitted By: Sarah Sweeney (sarah324) Assigned to: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Summary: highlight search terms in results Initial Comment: It would be great to have a feature which would cause search terms to be highlighted in the browser window. This is a feature in the Google toolbar, so if you use that, you will know what I mean. I think turning the highlighting on could be done either through a preference (in localprefs.js), or a generalized switch which would work with all searches, or even through the specific search xml files (this might be a reach) - it could be like the enable/disable search available in the help window, you could set whether or not you want search terms for each search to be highlighted (for instance, you would probably want them highlighted for a Google-type search, but not for a translation). ---------------------------------------------------------------------- >Comment By: Shawn K. This isn't something we'll pursue. However, most search engines today (including Google) highlight the search terms within the results. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: William Tanksley (wtanksle) Date: 2003-01-15 11:37 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=9360 Yes, I'd like this, together with a way to quickly find matching terms in results (like the Googlebar does). I'm afraid that this would require a separate plugin, though. -Billy ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=432069&aid=616368&group_id=42081 ------------------------------------------------------------------------- This SF.Net email is sponsored by the Moblin Your Move Developer's challenge Build the coolest Linux based applications with Moblin SDK & win great prizes Grand prize is a trip for two to an Open Source event anywhere in the world http://moblin-contest.org/redirect.php?banner_id=100&url=/ _______________________________________________ Archive: https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/dqsd-devel
