Summary: Atomica rip-off ideas

Initial Comment:
The Atomica search tool (http://www.atomica.com) is
already integrated into the search options for DQSD,
with the code "atm".

The Atomica tool allows you to ALT-click on a word in
any window and display the results in a small window.
When you close the window in which it displays the
results hidden Atomica cleverly hides it instead of
destroying it. This really speeds up subsequent
searches.

The feature request calls for a way to activate a default
(customizable) search by Alt-clicking (or Win-clicking?).
The best would be if this search reused its window, but
it probably should follow the general policy for window
reuse. The search should be included in the history.

DQSD does not directly interact with any applications beyond submitting
the query to the browser or shell. In order to accomplish this, we'd have
to write custom handlers for each application - totally beyond the scope of
a deskbar.

However, you can drag & drop text from almost every application onto DQSD
and it will search for that term immediately. See the "dragdropautosearch"
setting in preferences.js.

I meant to submit this as a feature request, not a bug. Sorry.
Admin: please move/delete.
