Here's a tip (found by Jeff Winkler) for getting ActiveDesktop enabled on
NT, without having to find an Internet Explorer 4.0 installer:

Haven't tried it, but it may work for you.

You're right, Windows NT4 can not add customized toolbars to its taskbar,
unless you installed the "Desktop update" together with Internet Explorer
*4* ! Since then, Microsoft didn't include this option in later releases of
IE (for complex monopoly reasons I think).
