I have been using Dave Search for a long time now.  I CANT live without it!!!  Searching, math, opening aliases … it is soooo handy.  Last week, however, after I installed a few things it started crashing.  In fact after I use daves search, Internet explorer would crash and then, windows explorer would lock up.  An hour glass would appear down in the taskbar.  I could use the start menu (using keyboard shortcut) or use a running application, but explorer (or the taskbar more specifically) was locked.  I have to, every time, CTRL ALT DEL, end explorer.exe, new task> explorer.exe to get it back.  The meat of the matter is:  I just installed Aardvark’s Direct Pro 24/96 drivers, Cakewalk’s Sonar 2.2, and Creative’s SoundBlaster Platinum Drivers.  I just got this recording device and started using it and that is when I noticed.  I uninstalled/reinstalled Dave’s- still didn’t work.  I patched Internet Explorer- still didn’t work.  I started using Opera Browser- made it worse!  So like any Dave Search freak would do… I reinstalled windows (XP).  Well much to my surprise, as soon as I installed Dave’s it did it again.  Unfortunately I wasn’t expecting it to do it so I installed Sonar, Aardvark and SBLive’s drivers first.  And I certainly could uninstall each one and try to figure it out, but I figure I got it narrowed down pretty good (I am leaning towards Sound Blaster).  Has anyone had this problem??? Anything close?  Does anyone have any of these apps installed?  I am so dependent on Daves Search that I NEED it working again. Please help…

Big Fan,

Eric
