Very late reply, but still a reply nonetheless. *g*

Gasping loudly, the young painter sits bolt upright in his bed, taking
deep struggling breaths. Panting, he swings his legs over the side of the
bed and closes his eyes, attempting to calm the pounding of his heart and
the rapid breathing. Crystal blue eyes snap up and over toward the easel
set up on the side of the room, and immediately he stands and moves
toward it, snatching up one of the empty canvases laid neatly propped at
the end of his bed. The new paints are set up as well, as if they were
waiting for just this, and he sets about to getting them spread across
the pallet. Picking up one of the new brushes, he sets to work.

After about an hour, maybe a tad more, he pauses, staring down at what's
been brought to near life upon the what was once white canvas. A small
girl, looking fearfully toward a body of water, though it wasn't the
clearest painting he'd done, it was suggestive of darkness. Almost a
turning point. The painting was like all the others in that it was so
vivid, the colors swirling together.. near dancing with each other to
bring the creation to life. Though it doesn't move, if one were to stare
at it long enough, they'd swear that the breeze was actually ruffling the
girl's hair and causing the water to ripple.

Shaking his head, he frowns, and places the brush and pallet to the
side. Stepping backward, he inches toward his bed on bare feet. Bumping
gently into it, he just seems to stare at the latest of the Dusk series.
And there he sits for a good couple of hours.. transfixed and
mesmerized.
