Captain Prai,

I do not believe I had the pleasure of meeting you or congratulating you
on your rise to Captain of Mysthaven, allow to me to do both now. I am
Pithanscomb Tynr, attaché to the Lord Marshall. While His Lordship is
away, I am temporarily filling in.

I hope you can forgive my lack of small talk, but I must get back to
work. I also apologize for the lateness of this missive, but I was in
the infirmary for a number of days and unable to get to a quill and
parchment. Now then, it has been hinted and rumored that one FastTalk ip
Lancan has escaped and is currently at large. He was in my office when I
had believed him in custody. At first I thought we may have had the
wrong man, but seeing as how reports suggest he is no longer in our
custody, I must believe it was him. If this is so, he now has access to
all the information we currently posses on him. He stole a set of our
scrolls in regards to the Guards knowledge of him and his activities.
While this does not cripple us in anyway, I have personally made copies
of these scrolls and safely stored them in various locations. It does
however provide us with a problem, if he knows what we know, he is less
likely to use the same ruses.

At your earliest convenience, please send the runner back with your
reply. I must know whether to advise a general alert to other Captains
as to Lancan's freedom and whether to increase the bounty upon his head.

Also, please assign a detachment of recruits to add the residence of one
Kylie of Ravenlock and Jackson Jonas to their patrols. They are by all
accounts law abiding citizens and the latter is a well known painter in
Mysthaven. It was her who, as you know, put Lancan into our custody and
she fears reprisal by Lancan on her or her fiancé. I suggest recruits
because I do not feel Lancan will move on them this quickly, simply
because they will be under watch. I would suggest in perhaps two weeks
giving that assignment to more veteran officers, I believe it will be
then, if at all, Lancan would strike. Thank you for your time and speedy
response Captain Prai.

Brother in Arms,
Pithanscomb "Pith" Tynr
