Kenneth Lopez <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> made an utterence to the drakelist gang ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Steve,

I've been over to see Joe's collection. It is impressive and takes up almost the first floor of his large ranch style home. He doesn't actually live there full time as he spends much of his time in San Diego with his wife and kids. His manager takes on custodial duties when he's not there. Full security.

This is "his" LA house and it has large collections of every major vintage manufacturer. Heathkit to Hallicrafters. Collins to Drake. All set up and operational for the most part, except the radios still in boxes unpacked and waiting. Workbenches, parts rigs in process. He is sincere and very into restoration and operation. He's bought some stuff from me. A great fellow amateur, and of course, he can hold his own with the best rockers on guitar. He's for real and has been for decades, promoting radio to all who would listen. When he's in town he is often on the Wed. AM net as well.

Cheers,

Hello all..

Recently, I read an e-mail from one of you who was commenting on Joe
Walsh(the singer from the Eagles) buying a pristine NOS TR-7A from an
auction site I won't mention here. Since I collected his music, and Drake
radio's, I decided to make contact with him and find out if he was
interested in Drake radio's. I sent a short e-mail and he answered me
saying that "yes, he just had to have it," just returned from a sold out
world tour with the Eagles and asked for information on any Drake nets on
the West coast. I sent him a reply with the web address, net info and info
on this reflector. I told him to subscribe and let us know about his
collection. He seemed like a nice guy. I hope he checks in with us. I
thought it was interesting to know that someone who was in many famous rock
bands has the technical excellence to get an extra license and shared our
common interest in Drake's. If he does show up, please welcome him. He
seemed very sincere to me.

Thanks!!

Steve
