This might be a good start. Suggest the database needs to be either one listing, for those with parts or these mythical 'junkers' so people can see who might have what they need, or two listings where the wanted's can be shown as well. Right now the database is a bit more haphazard, not easy to know if you are in the right place. But it is a good start and I'd be remiss if I didn't say that I hadn't really looked too closely at the site for such a thing previously. As a distributed network the database idea is a good one, needs heavy promoting though and maybe a lot of encouragement to get stuff listed. There is also the postage hassles; though if we are talking about sending small parts in padded bags through normal mail routes it's not so bad. I still like the idea of a 'curator' to handle the requests and deal with the dispersal and of course utilise the donations to acquire more of these 'junkers'. Maybe this couldn't really happen. Perhaps even those smoke damaged steam rollered radios are now being restored. I don't know of such a source...but there should be one....of course the Drake resellers will get upset, as it might dry up their source of parts. One step would be to have a database of parts/rigs that folks have available.... that'e easy....I can have one up on the website within a day or so.
