<[EMAIL PROTECTED]> made an utterence to the drakelist gang ---------------------------------------------------------------------- I have been working on a TR-4 that I picked up at a flea market it has serial number 30300. It has a lot in common with the TR-4C and I have found that some of the circuit changes made to the C line have been incorporated into this TR-4. I had the receive working very well and had switched over to working on the transmitter section last night. While I was doing the transmitter alignment I slowly lost plate drive to the finals. first I could not get much over 2Ma on 80 meters then I noticed all of the other bands were very low. I changed the driver tube out and that made no difference. I checked receive is now low on all bands. I suspect that I have either lost one of the bias voltages or that the front end has a problem seeing that now both receive and transmit are down. I can tune in a signal from the crystal calibrator but it just deflects the s meter slightly. I tried putting a signal from a HP RF generator into the antenna at a level that should have read a s9 and it doesn?t move the s meter.
Has anyone run into this before? And are there any words of wisdom? I didn?t have time energy last night to go any further with checks and am somewhat bummed out being very close to getting this rig on the air and having it crap out.
