List members,   It is with great sadness and sorrow that I tell you all that my friend MIKE ELLIOTT, W8KRR passed away early Friday morning, April 14, 2006.   Mike was the man behind the DRAKE TR7 and HEATHKIT SB-104 transceivers.   I had the great pleasure and honor to be invited home to him an evening in 2001, the same day The Drake Reunion with former and present Drake Employees had taken place at The Drake Forum at The Dayton Hamvention. We had frequent contact up to recently.   Mike was always interested in helping Drake enthusiasts with their questions and problems presented on this list. We will all miss him. Michael received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering from Northwestern University in 1963. He was a member of the Triangle Engineering Fraternity and licensed in Amateur Radio as W8KRR. Michael was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest R. and Margaret J. Elliott and a brother, Timothy D. Elliott. He is survived by his 2 sons, Pete (Susan) Elliott of Columbus, OH and Steve (Liz) Elliott of Cincinnati, OH; 4 grandchildren, James, Laura, Vance, and Leah Elliott; and ex-wife, Patricia V. Elliott. A memorial service will be held Wednesday, April 19, 2006 at 6:00 PM at the Routsong Funeral Home, 81. N. Main St., Centerville with Rev. Keith Luke officiating. Family will receive friends from 4-6:00 PM at the funeral home. In memory of Michael, contributions may be made to Hospice of Dayton, 324 Wilmington Ave., Dayton, OH 45420.
