Bent,
There are many more knowledgeable than I, but let's start with some easy things.

Try CW, see if you have power out at all.  This will split the trouble between 
totally TX failure, and only one mode gone.

Then check the connectors on the mic.  Try another mic, if you have one.  Is 
the relay kicking when you push the PTT?  Are you using VOX?   If so, make sure 
the PTT switch is in the correct position (I think out for VOX, in to force 
PTT).  Try using PTT instead of VOX.  Try to divide the problem to areas of the 
rig.  

Think of the radio as a unit with a lot of connected boxes inside.  Each box 
has a function that ties into other boxes and finally provide a single  unit 
(VFO, mixer, RF Power amp, mic amp, VOX amp, PTT line, etc).  Try to find the 
problem box.
