Hi,
Ever heard of the FS-4??? This information comes from the virtual Drake
mueseum at:
        www.dproducts.be/drake_museum

                              FS-4 synthesizer

The new solid state Drake FS-4 Synthesizer opens the door to a new
world of continuous-tuning short wave. Combines synthesized general
coverage flexibility with the selectivity, stability, frequency readout
and reliability of the DRAKE R-4C or SPR-4 Receivers.

bullet Interfaces with all R-4 series receivers and T-4X series
   transmitters.(R-4, R-4A, R-4B, R-4C. SPR-4, T-4, T-4X, T-4XB and
   T-4XC), without modification

bullet MHz range IS set on FS-4. With kHz readout taken from receiver
   dial

bullet Complete general coverage-no range crystals to buy.

bullet T-4/T-4X series transmitters transceiver on any FS-4 frequency,
when used with R-4 series receivers

bullet Readout 1 kHz with Drake PTO.

bullet Continuous coverage 1,5 MHz through 30 MHz

     SPR-4/FS-4 :

   bullet All solid state

bullet Built-In L,/C Filter for selectivity on am, cw, usb and lsb

bullet Versatile combination Includes low frequency Marine and
   Broadcast band.

bullet Continuous coverage 150 kHz-30 MHz

bullet For use with SPR-4. order Interface Kit Mode1523

    Note from Ramon Klein :

   Hello,
I was visiting the museum and noted that the FS-4 information didn't
mention that it can be used on the 2-C receiver as well. The only
changes required for the FS-4 to work with the SPR-4, 2-C and R-4
receivers is the crystal in the FS-4.
   R-4 and T-4X 9.6 Mhz crystal
   SPR-4 9.59 Mhz crystal
2-C 9.5 Mhz crystal and add 7 Mhz. to FS-4
   readout for proper frequency.

   Thanks Ramon !

The whole point of cooking is to get as much flavour out of the
ingredients as possible.
