Jim, I found someone had already tweaked the +10 up to 10.4V to try and compensate for the problem. When I got the radio the xtal was already about 9KHz away from the passband skirt at 10.4V and only muffled noises could be heard with the pseudo AM filter setting.
Maybe if I tweaked it up to 14V? Nope, just kidding. I found a used replacement, installed it in the radio, did the alignment, pulled the crystal and sent it to ICM to figure out what is needed. Once I have that info I will post it on this list so all can order a new xtal if needed without having to go through all this gosh darned hassle.
