Gary, I was the one with the problem of muting my NC-300 with my T-4XC. I have
been communicating with Garey Barrell about this, and have tried a number of
things including a mod to the transmitter to mute the receiver with bias
instead of using the normal process of opening up the cathode circuits. So far
I have not been able to stop the loud thumping problem when I key the
transmitter. The best thing I can recommend is for you to give it a try with
your collins receiver. Chances are you will not have a problem. Get in touch
with me if you are interested in what I have run into.

Subject: [Drakelist] Muting a non Drake Receiver

Several days ago there was a discussion on using a T4XB to mute a non drake
receiver. I believe it was a National 303 ? I would like to use my spare T4XB
to mute and cause no damage to my Collins 75A4 receiver. Did the gentleman with
the 303 resolve his problem ?
