Both sound like switching problems. DeoxIT (or your preferred potion) on the various switch contacts will almost certainly take care of the spot situation. If not, you may need to clean the relay contacts as well. More DeoxIT on a piece of good paper pulled through the contacts with pressure applied.

The Calibrator could well be the low voltage supply. There is a diode / electrolytic off of the filament supply that is used to power the dividers used in the Calibrator, and you may need a new cap. The 100 kHz oscillator is driven off the same supply as the PTO and BAND oscillators, so you would still have 100 kHz points, possibly having to bring the receiver antenna lead close to the oscillator. The Calibrator is located at the rear center of the chassis, and has the large crystal can that is clipped to the chassis in a spring mount. NOT the crystal with the paint stripe on it!
