Hello everyone,
Working on a Drake R-4A 11 tube, S/N 5900
Fixed several things so far...looking pretty good.
Still don't think the audio is as good as it should be.
Volume needs to be at 12:00 to be fairly loud. Seems like it should be
real loud at 12:00, it is on my R-4B and my R-4c.
Replaced the Q7 Audio pre-amp...no help.
Checked all resistors on Board 1..look pretty close
Looking at Garey's doc on the transistor voltages...These do not match
up correctly.
So, can anyone verify what the voltages should be on Q7 & Q8 for me?
The audio is not terrible, but I think it is a little low and not as
clear as my R-4B here.
Scope Signal on Collector of Q7 is 1 Volt P-P, and on Q8 6 volts P-P
(Grid of Audio amp) ...that is with a S9 calibrator signal.
What do you think...?
