I believe that as kvpass replied, it is not possible as your scenario differs
from my initial request.

When deploying an OS from the ds hosted on the front-end to the linstor system
ds

I used CDROM, but no this image will not show up in linstor, because the image
is still saved in the default image datastore(FS datastore).

But as far as I can see you can specify to which datastores you want to
download marketplace images.

You mean the front-end storage or the NFS filesystem datastore?

What type was it CDROM, DATABLOCK or OS?

In my case it was OS.

So you uploaded netboot.xyz<http://netboot.xyz> image to the local storage of
the front-end and then instantiated a vm with that disk, and you can see
(linstor resource list) the disk on linstor??

Thanks in advance for your help

Apart from a bug that I just fixed (pushed to github) this worked for me,
except I used a self uploaded netboot.xyz<http://netboot.xyz> image (not from
marketplace).

Cheers

Hi Rene, basically I was trying to have the images downloaded from the
marketplace on the local disk on the front-end (YES…. DS_MAD=fs) and deploy a
VM instance on a system_datastore of type linstor.

I was planning on having the images on an NFS Filesystem datastore to be shared
between all hosts and then copy the images to the linstor datastores upon
instantiation.

If not possible I will use the image datastores and system datastores
configured on all storage nodes and then the hosts will access the images and
disks in diskless mode

Thanks

Hi,

I'm not sure I fully understand what you are trying to do.
You have a local image(DS_MAD fs?) and want to deploy a VM with it in a linstor
system context?
Or just transfer a image between datastores?

Cheers

Hi,

Unfortunately linstor-addon support images transfer operations only between
datastores with the same TM_MAD=linstor

So both your datastores should use same driver.

Hi Everyone, I have added the linstor addon for OpenNebula and created 2
datastores for both the image and the system datastore. I can deploy images
with this method without issues. I am now trying to deploy from the local
storage on the front-end to the linstor storage node but I am receiving the
below error message:

[one.vm.deploy] Image Datastore does not support transfer mode: linstor

Is this deployment model supported or I am missing something?

Thanks
