Subject: bad dream
i am at a childood park with my dad. an older woman walks by and he
recognizes her and says hi, he has known her for awhile. everythings
fine and then he stripps off all his clothing and runs off and starts
raising his left arm high in the air as if to stretch it, or prevent a
heart attack i thought. i tell him to stop doing this but he doesnt
listen. i tell him i'm calling 911 if he persists so then i went and
called on a payphone. i put the phone down for too long then it is a
black cordless phone. i put it back to my ear and hear a very muffled
womans voice saying one word at a time. not understanding a word of
this i hang up and run home. i open my parents bdroom door and theyre
both in there. i say oh mom did you know what dad did today in an
accusatory way. then i am in my basement and he comes down and asks
for a hug. he is despondant. at first i hug him and feel nothing. he
then tells me he is going to go to the hospital and have them end his
life, something to do with a sunset. i then feel really bad and
hugging him feels really good. i tell him he cant die yet because i'll
lose my mind. just wait a little longer.

Hi, a few questions for you and I will try to see if I can help you
figure this out.
1. What does the park you were in mean to you and how old were you in
the dream? Were you the age you are now?
2. Does your father have any health problems that you know of?
3. When you asked your mom if she knew what he did - what happened?
Did dream immediately jump to the basement?
4. What were you doing in the basement when your father came down to
talk? Is it a finished or unfinished basement? What was the
environment like down there (light, dark, damp, etc)

I am guessing that your father holding his arm up in the air came from
him having the shoulder injury. That part might not be all that
relevant to the dream. The park probably stands for the past,
nostalgia, perhaps something that makes you feel like a child again for
good or bad. Based on the rest of the dream, I would say this dream is
pointing out some negative feelings. Being unable to work equipment in
dreams is very common for whatever reason. It is probably a symbol of
frustration and lack of control in some area of your life. Basements
can symbolize the dark secret places of the mind. Maybe something
hidden away that we don't want to face. Are you angry with your father
about something? Do you suspect perhaps that he was unfaithful to your
mother? I don't mean to offend, this is just a feeling I got. If it's
wrong I apologize.
