No, the next stable branch will be for 4.2.

No need to use CVS for that, it depends what you want...

DRI CVS might be slightly better for that, there have been some mga
fixes lately.

They're still separate. All I was saying (or trying to say :) is that
there has been more development in XFree86 CVS since it was last merged
into DRI CVS than vice versa.
