Okay, I updated my DRI CVS checkout, made sure PCIGART was enabled in
radeon_dri.c and the DRM sources and rebuilt both the kernel module and the
radeon_drv.o module. X starts up, the bottom half of the screen is painted
with a rubbish pattern and the top-half remains black. Once again, I have
control of the mouse pointer, but otherwise can perform no input. Shutdown
time...

I checked the XFree86.log, and ForcePCIMode is definitely being honoured.

I think I'm going to give 2.5.x (with the 2.4 IDE backport, no sense in
throwing away all my data) kernel a shot to see whether updates to agpgart
make any difference.

Thanks,
Charl
