I have a dual video adapter system: Primary: ATI Rage 128 Secondary: NVidia Geforce2
System boots on R128 and then runs X on Geforce. If I run ddcprobe from a virtual console (on R128) it works fine. If I run it on an xterm it fails (see below). What should the correct behavior be? I would have expected it to give me the DDC data for the NVidia card/monitor that it is the active console. nvidia vs nv driver doesn't make a difference. Same results for both. ddcprobe not working wouldn't be a big deal except that Redhat's redhat-config-xfree86 calls ddcprobe. Because of the error the Probe button in this app is disabled. Without the probe button there is no easy way for a user to rewrite the XF86Config file after changing a monitor. ddcprobe is using VESA support to the get the DDC data. Should the VESA vectors be modified to point to the Gefore when X is activated on the Geforce? Or should ddcprobe be modified to use another scheme for getting the ddc data?
