I've been doing a little grepping here and there. Correct me if I'm wrong, but in dri_dma_t, there are fields send_count, and related send_XXX values; these fields never seem to be used from the user level. They seem to only be used internally to the kernel driver.
In which case, sounds like they do not really belong in the struct passed around for dma related ioctls in the first place.
