R200_NO_TCL or LIBGL_ALWAYS_INDIRECT works OK.

The terminal where quake3-smp is run shows:

While the syslog shows:
[drm:radeon_cp_cmdbuf] *ERROR* bad buffer
This is with DRI trunk. I saw this with XFree86 CVS i.e. the mesa-4.0.4-branch too.
