If you go with the binary cards with kernel modules (which for some
kinds of workload you have too alas) also be aware that you will need to
budget for a Motif license if you use any Motif applications as the
OpenMotif shipped by Linux vendors is licensed solely for an "Open
Source OS".

Not a big deal but its not obvious
