I have Intel's 845G on 2.4.25 kernel. I hane agpgart and intel_agp compiled as modules. On X.org 6.7.0, DRI worked with the i830 drm module. When I upgraded to X.org 6.8, DRI insisted to load i915 drm module. I installed the i915 module from 20040827 (Gentoo ebuild).
