May be it only with ATI binary driver! Indeed, it's our driver that disables the DRI if Composite is enabled, not the DRI in general. Sure, there are many, the most obvious one being that the former is proprietary. If you have any issues with it, please use the existing feedback channel for it instead of bringing them up to the libre software community that can't do anything about it.
