This means you have old Xorg code. You need to compile new one from CVS.
Hmm, apparently the 'make install' had not nuked all of my old X11 binaries. Now it works, thanks a lot!
Whoops, I forgot about that. What happened is that Xorg has switched to using *.so loader (as opposed to one that used *.o files). The old files were left in place and the whole thing got confused.
