AFAIK they aren't, the only data the radeon and r200 drivers upload to the framebuffer is textures.

I was mistaken then. So the sizes that Xserver prints during startup is the result of partitioning of AGP memory ? Is there are a reason why this could not have been allocated dynamically as needed ?
