I just committed Aapo's depth tiling fixes and new r3/4xx surface
limits to xorg cvs.  It looks like they are indeed using 12 bits for
surface width, however, only tiled surfaces up to 3968 work properly. 
Unfortunately, the r300 books don't have any info on the surface regs.
