The Kernel module 'i915' has a strange bug since version 1.4.0. When X is starting after the boot, everything runs normally as always. But when I switch to a tty, the problem appears: I get a strange message in the kernel log (dmesg) and IRQ 11 gets disabled: irq 11: nobody cared (try booting with the "irqpoll" option) [<7813a464>] __report_bad_irq+0x24/0x90 [<7813a56b>] note_interrupt+0x9b/0x210 [<c804ce99>] usb_hcd_irq+0x39/0x70 [usbcore] [<78139f4d>] handle_IRQ_event+0x3d/0x70 [<7813a034>] __do_IRQ+0xb4/0xc0 [<78104cb9>] do_IRQ+0x19/0x30 [<7810301e>] common_interrupt+0x1a/0x20 [<781209de>] __do_softirq+0x2e/0xa0 [<78104620>] do_general_protection+0x0/0x1c0 [<78120a76>] do_softirq+0x26/0x30 [<78104cbe>] do_IRQ+0x1e/0x30 [<7810301e>] common_interrupt+0x1a/0x20 [<78104620>] do_general_protection+0x0/0x1c0 [<78103066>] error_code+0x3a/0x54 [<78104620>] do_general_protection+0x0/0x1c0 [<78102e51>] syscall_call+0x7/0xb handlers: [<c804ce60>] (usb_hcd_irq+0x0/0x70 [usbcore]) [<c804ce60>] (usb_hcd_irq+0x0/0x70 [usbcore]) [<c804ce60>] (usb_hcd_irq+0x0/0x70 [usbcore]) [<c804ce60>] (usb_hcd_irq+0x0/0x70 [usbcore]) Disabling IRQ #11 And here is my /proc/interrupts file: CPU0 0: 613004 XT-PIC timer 1: 5824 XT-PIC i8042 2: 0 XT-PIC cascade 8: 4 XT-PIC rtc 9: 5910 XT-PIC acpi 10: 42118 XT-PIC Intel 82801DB-ICH4, yenta, eth0 11: 300000 XT-PIC uhci_hcd:usb1, uhci_hcd:usb2, uhci_hcd:usb3, ehci_hcd:usb4, [EMAIL PROTECTED]:0000:00:02.0 12: 227076 XT-PIC i8042 14: 36038 XT-PIC ide0 15: 21784 XT-PIC ide1 NMI: 0 ERR: 0 After that, all USB devices are no longer working. This problem appears since Kernel 2.6.16-rc2 (i915 was updated to 1.4.0), older versions are working good. If I use the i830 kernel module, there is also no problem. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugs.freedesktop.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are the assignee for the bug, or are watching the assignee. ------------------------------------------------------- This SF.Net email is sponsored by xPML, a groundbreaking scripting language that extends applications into web and mobile media.
