--- Comment #24 from Michal Januszewski <sp...@gentoo.org> 2009-05-24 13:00:12 --- (In reply to comment #23) > Just to be sure: I really have to compile in intelfb, right? It's not > possible > to load the intelfb module with, say initrd? It is, but then you'd have to use the mode= parameter instead of vga= on the kernel command line. I don't think this would help you in any way though -- after each bisection, you still need to rebuild both the kernel and the module. Otherwise the module will not load. It's also possible that this was broken by a commit changing code outside of intelfb, and you would not detect this if you were only rebuilding and reloading the module. > Sigh. This means *a lot* of bisecting. Is there any kernel version which is > confirmed to run with my graphics card (in LCD mode) so that I have at least a > starting point? I'm not sure. I think you should just pick a reasonably old kernel, such as 2.6.26 or 2.6.27 and try with that. If that version doesn't work, at least you will establish a tighter upper boundary for the bisection. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.kernel.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are the assignee for the bug. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Register Now for Creativity and Technology (CaT), June 3rd, NYC.
