Ugh. If the backlog can't be handled more regularly than once every two months, I suggest rejecting the stale messages so that they go back to the original submitter instead. Nothing older than (say) a week is likely to be relevant anymore. If he still wants to post them, he can take corrective action on his own when he sees the rejection, and perhaps update the message to reflect the discussion that has gone on since then.
