Hi, Can anyone point me how to debug DU package? Everything said on White paper is not applicable to CD version. I am testing it on Solaris 10 CD and now I got stuck. The OS CD won't recognize Hard Disk after reading DU package from floppy. From log file, it seems driver is installed but not attached.

Firstly: you need to make sure that your driver is installed in the miniroot (see the patchadd and root_archive manpages). Then you need to ensure that the package containing your driver is included in the install image so that it's selectable by the user. This last part is a big pain and typically - at the moment - only done by Sun's Release Engineering and Installation Engineering teams. The other option is to create an ITU (Install Time Update) package, there is an example here http://developers.sun.com/solaris/developer/support/driver/tools/SUNWpkgd/html/Advanced.html but not having created one myself I can't say how easy it might or might not be. cheers, James -- Senior Kernel Software Engineer, Solaris Sun Microsystems http://blogs.sun.com/jmcp http://www.jmcp.homeunix.com/blog _______________________________________________ driver-discuss mailing list [email protected] http://mail.opensolaris.org/mailman/listinfo/driver-discuss
