This has come up a few times in various places, so I'd like to propose a project to add generic *MII support to the mac layer. I think we can provide a generic interface that can be used for 10mb->10gb.
Specificially, it would subsume the get/set speed & duplex getprop calls from upper layers and translate it into the appropriate *MII get/set requests.
