Hi G0dd4rd, About the Mac Mini audio problem: I have not found any usable mixer yet. I wanted to get audio from the system as soon as possible, especially after succesfully compiling the myk driver to get the Marvel network card working.
You may find it an elegant solution or not. I have bought a USB sound card. It was cheap, only Eur 10,= and it worked right out of the box. It looks more like a USB stick with two 3.5 mm jack sockets, one for headphones and one for microphone. I suppose I could even record with it, but I haven't tested that. The sound quality is not very good, but I can live with it for the next two or three OpenSolaris releases. I hope this solution suits you too. -- kind regards, wrkn... Hi G0dd4rd, Yesterday I ran into the same problem as you. I also have a Mac mini. I want to get analogue sound output. I think the problem is that it outputs SPDIF (optical) audio, but I have no way of checking this(although the audio port sends out red light). I tried upgrading to the development version (very cool process with those boot environments), but that did not help. I'm looking for some tool that will let me switch from SPDIF digital output tot analogue output. I will try to install the OSS package this evening. The ossxmix mixer looks like it might do the job. I also found: http://virtualizationtalk.net/showthread.php?p=561 but I haven't tried it yet. -- kind regards, wouter... -- This message posted from opensolaris.org _______________________________________________ driver-discuss mailing list [email protected] http://mail.opensolaris.org/mailman/listinfo/driver-discuss
