I would add that Drupal 6 has some pretty serious limitations without having to get clever in some cases. It generates some pretty terrible queries that do not work well in InnoDB land. Though I cannot speak to personal experience, Drupal 7 does seem to be an all-around better platform and would be a good place to focus on Drizzle integration.
