I've installed a recaptcha extension for signing up, which should keep out the automated registrations. I've also had to hack up parts of another spam extension to make the "spam cleanup" tool actually process relatively painlessly.
If you see more spam show up (which I am subscribed to the wiki changelog, so I see everything that goes on anyway) let me know (off the list) Also during this time I upgraded MW to the latest version. Hopefully it didn't break anything. GeSHi was one of the only "extras" in there. It seems to work. Discovered that part of the skin had an issue, apparently the function to dump scripts/CSS out changed. I am not sure if it is an issue or not. Things *seem* to be okay right now.
