http://docs.drizzle.org/functions/current_time_functions.html

"NOW returns the current date and time. The return value will be
expressed as ‘YYYY-MM-DD HH:MM:SS:mmmmmm’ or YYYYMMDDHHMMSS.uuuuuu,
depending on whether the function is used in a string or numeric
context. The value is expressed in the current time zone."

In Drizzle everything is forced into UTC timezone (ie GMT time), this
is by design. (Compare with the fact that in Drizzle everything is
always UTC-8.) In my opinion the above sentence is misleading. Since
there is only one possible time zone, the docs should say "in UTC time
zone".

If you want to submit a bug, or a fix, or both, that would be a nice
low-hanging-fruit task!
