ive been thinking about proposing a project for the JDBC driver

basic idea is to parse SELECT-queries client side and make them use the
handler socket interface (i know drizzle doesnt support that yet, but
someone could hack that up right? :) )

it could execute the query for "real" first to get metadata, column types,
primary key etc and then execute queries against a handlersocket

thoughts? has anyone tried something similar before?
