Note that we now have the new version numbers in tunk. (e.g. pandora-build code and test fixes that enables 7.1.31-rc style versions.)
So you should call the milestones 7.1.31, 7.1.32, ... and then 7.2.0, 7.2.1... Note that for the milestones it doesn't make sense to use the -rc and -stable, since you cannot know today which one to use for 7.1.32. It is considered a feature that the version number doesn't imply a certain date. So if schedules slip and we skip a month here and there, the same versions still work without confusion. However, I think doing a tarball once a month is an excellent goal that we should try to achieve! I have until now just published patches and sent merge requests and completely ignored the milestones or even writing a bug report. (Isn't the branch name descriptive enough?) But I certainly welcome getting more organized and promise to use launchpad better myself too. henrik On Mon, Feb 13, 2012 at 5:47 AM, Stewart Smith <[email protected]> wrote: > Hi all, > > so, we've fallen a bit behind with updating launchpad with milestones > for tarball releases. > > I propose the following: > - we switch to monthly tarball releases, around the start of the month. > - i'll take it on board to keep these up to date. > > -- > Stewart Smith > > _______________________________________________ > Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~drizzle-discuss > Post to : [email protected] > Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~drizzle-discuss > More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp -- [email protected] +358-40-8211286 skype: henrik.ingo irc: hingo www.openlife.cc My LinkedIn profile: http://www.linkedin.com/profile/view?id=9522559 _______________________________________________ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~drizzle-discuss Post to : [email protected] Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~drizzle-discuss More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
