That being said, we were forced, in Mahout, to go to 1.6 b/c Hadoop went to 1.6.
If Mahout and Hadoop are 1.6 then I am even more in favor of making droids 1.6 -- I understand it may be difficult now, but it is easier to raise the bar now then later...
