Hi, any news on the release? The problem with not releasing is clearly a complete slowdown in any kind of activity of any nature with Droids. I personally have over 10 issues that are just standing idle because I am waiting for 0.0.2. Is it really that difficult to do a release (I'm asking having never done one within the Apache ecosystem)? It's just that we're waiting for this since February. Hope I don't sound too negative here, just want to find out what the timeline is, and if there's anything I can help with. Thanks. Eugen.
I've been doing releases, but having to go back and clean things up. It's taking longer than I would like and I apologize for that. There are a lot of i's to dot and t's to cross. I've got another one ready to go that should hopefully pass all of the votes. The first release is difficult.
That shouldn't be slowing things down. Several months ago the 0.1.x version was branched so I can work through the release issues without impacting development. trunk is clear for any 0.2.x development. Go ahead and develop.
The one thing we need is a website that we can easily update and deploy. I think it originally was Apache Forrest, and it was then at least partially moved into Maven. Then in the release process it was split out and is no longer part of the code base that we would release (then I / we don't have to worry about licenses in all of those documents). It is in svn, just adjacent to trunk instead of inside of it. When issues like not having Disclaimer text are raised, those need to be addressed before doing a release. The Disclaimer issue is fixed for now.
We also need to come up with a statement that follows trademark rules. We need to have pretty much the first sentence on our page read "The Apache Droids robot framework ..."..
