Hi,

I know I should update my version of DSpace, but I have been promissed
it will be merged to the central space soon...

My question is: is there a way, using the command dspace to change the
submitter ID of an item? Problem is, our students submit their thesis by
themselves, using their own user account. But once they leave the
university, their account is deleted. When a visitor needs to request
for a copy of the work, the submitter cannot be contacted and the demand
is rejected.

So when the student leaves, the submiter ID is automatically transfered to
our library people. So far, I do this with a pgsql statement, it works
but it may not be the cleanest way to proceed.

Is there an easy way to do so by using the command bin/dspace?

(by easy, I mean something that does not involve exporting the item,
modifying and reimporting it).

Thanks in advance,

Olivier
