The Northeast Institutional Repository Day 2026 (NIRD26) Program Committee is
pleased to issue its Call for Proposals<https://forms.gle/VTdijUkMLpy9cfH5A>
for the eighth annual Northeast Institutional Repository
Day<https://zenodo.org/communities/nird/about>, a free event that brings
together those in the Northeast (and beyond!) who manage or are interested in
institutional repositories, digital collections, and digital preservation. With
the success of our recent events and in an effort to continue to make NIRD
available to as many participants as possible, all presentations will be
delivered virtually.

December 3rd and 4th, 2026

Time: 12/3 afternoon ET (UTC -5); 12/4 morning ET (UTC -5)

Virtual event (Zoom link will be provided to registrants)

The NIRD26 Program Committee welcomes any proposal related to institutional
repositories, especially work that can be applicable to other institutions,
even those working on different platforms. Tell us what helped or hindered your
work in these or other areas:

  * IRs in the current era (budget cuts, artificial intelligence, the Open
Access landscape and new funder requirements, etc.);

  *   Measuring IR impact;

  *   Digital preservation workflows;

  *   Innovative IR collaborations and outreach initiatives;

  *   IRs as library publishing platforms;

  * Equity, inclusion, and accessibility for IR contributors, users, and
content;

  *   IR policies;

  * Tools used within IR workflows (for cataloging, transcription, ingest,
metadata reconciliation, etc.);

  * Where IRs fit within library service models and intra-library
collaborations

Proposals that are platform agnostic are particularly encouraged. The Program
Committee is not accepting proposals from vendor representatives for NIRD26.

The Program Committee is requesting that proposals fall into the following
formats:

  *   Lightning Talk (5-7 min) - a brief, free-standing presentation, with or
without slides

  *   Presentation (20 min) - a more comprehensive, free-standing presentation
or panel

Important dates:

  * Deadline for submission extended: October 15, 2026

  *   Notification of acceptance: October 30, 2026

Please submit your proposal using this
form<https://forms.gle/VTdijUkMLpy9cfH5A>.

In keeping with the collaborative and platform-agnostic spirit of the NIRD
community, all forthcoming conference content will be hosted on
Zenodo<https://zenodo.org/communities/nird/about> under a CC-BY license.
